Stroh resident Ed (Jay) Crisswell, 79 died February 25, 2011 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, Indiana.  Ed was born 11 Aug 1931 in Albion, Indiana to Allen O. and Vera B. (Acherman) Criswell.  He attended Rome City Schools until 1949 and entered the Army in 1950.  He remained in the Army until 1971 serving with the Army Security Agency, retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major E8.  His many assignments included Japan, Korea, Germany and Vietnam.  After his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver, a school bus driver for Prairie Heights from 1984 to 1992 and a lawn care specialist.  He enjoyed fishing and watching sports, especially IU basketball and NASCAR.  Ed was a member of the Albion american Legion and the Kendallville Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He married Donna Kern on April 7, 1972.  She survives.  Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Dean Twitchell of Angola, Michele Whipple of Vicksburg, MI and Cynthia and Mike Rhea of Kendallville.  Sisters Bonnie Amerman of Kendallville and Barbara VanWagner of Rome City and brothers Fred of West Virginia, Larry of Rome City and Mike (Sue) of Wolcottville.  Also surviving are grandchildren Jared (Katie) Anderson of Indianapolis, Carrie (Jeff) Pintar of Orland Park, IL, Justin Rhea of Vicksburg, MI, Cole Twitchell of Lockport, IL, Joshua Rhea of Lansing, MI, Rachael Rhea of Kendallville, and Sarah Rhee of Kendallville.  Also surviving are three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Hazel, brothers Lewis, Richard, Paul, Dean, Garman, Tom and Arthur and son-in-law Tim Whipple.
